Audi emphasises the 'S' with new plus version of SQ5 TDI

Further expanding its range of S models, Audi is set to launch the new SQ5 TDI plus in Ireland. Arriving at dealerships in February 2016 it has more power, driving enjoyments and extensive equipment including 340hp, sport differential and 20" wheels.

The Audi SQ5 boasts the practicality of an SUV with the performance you'd expect from a sports car. The plus version has an even higher power output with a bi-turbo V6 TDI which produces 340bhp from its three litres of displacement by way of increased injection pressure. This gives it 16bhp more than its highly successful sibling, the SQ5 TDI, while torque is alse increased by 50 to 700Nm. The SQ5 TDI plus also has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds on its way to an electrically goverened top speed of 250km/h. In the NECD cycle it only needs 6.6 litres of fuel per 100km with emissions of 174g CO2/km.

The Audi SQ5 TDI plus stays true to the S model legacy and delivers its power to the road via quattro permanent all-wheel drive. For the first time in the Q5 family, a sport differential at the rear axle actively distributes the drive power to the wheels for better grip. This sports differential distributes torque from the engine in continuously variable proportions between the rear wheels, and always sends more power in a controlled manner to the outside rear wheel. Agility is enhanced while driving becomes more enjoyable and safe. The SQ5 TDI plus comes equipped with gloss black 20-inch cast aluminium wheels in 10 Y spoke design from Audi Sport with sizes 255/45 R20 tyres.

Audi has now included the exterior mirror housing, the door handles, the roof edge spoiler and the diffuser in the standard black gloss package while further customisation comes in the form of two clasps that join the four exhaust tailpipes in pairs. Inside, the rear seat bench can easily be folded to enlarge the luggage compartment when required. Luxury comes as standard with armrests in the door upholstered in leather and fine Nappa leather seat covers which feature a diamond pattern in silver.

The Audi SQ5 TDI plus retails for €85,250 OTR and is available to order from Audi Centre, South Dublin now.
